It was one year ago when I was among you
One year ago when I journied across time
To touch with kindred souls and minds
Now I return to you after days at the Wailing Wall
Sackcloth rent and ashes streaking my face
    Tears dried on my cheeks
    Now I return to you
    A different sista
With a different perception of life
    A different perception of people
Nothing is ever as it appears to be
And conscious folks do betray and lie
    Peace brothers can be dogs
    Peace sistas can be b*tches
    Deceivers and weavers of lies
Yet and still I will love and forgive
    But I shall never forget
One year in the life of conscious elevation
    Love Supreme
    I was in poetic/euphoric bliss
Until the sunshine burnt this black rose petals to blisters
Now I seethe on the fury I have reaped
In these days of endless weeping
    Sobbing sighs
    Somebody lied, lied, lied
And took all the joy away from me
Somebody could not swallow there bitterness
So I was punished far beyond any sin I committed
And I believed in these folks
    Conscious folks
    Beautiful Black people
    Yet all turned so ugly
    Tarnished with selfishness and fallacy
And this is my reality to remember
Even as I raise my head to the skies
Implore God to remove the burden from my shoulders
And let me return to the paths of righteousness
    Submerge myself into divine consciousness
    Forever scarred
    Forever burned
    Karma earned
    Lesson learned
    One year in the life
Filled with glorious enlightment and love
Ended in pain, betrayal, and strife
    Now I return to you
    With new eyes
    Still Legacy but forever altered
Never to be known as I once was
    Perhaps faith and love
    Will restore my spirit
    But until then
    One year in the life
Where I drfit on the edges of existence
    Learning to live again.....
