    You left when you left
    your hands around my throat
    left me choking for air
    left me sobbing in pain
    left me shaking with fear

    you left when you left
    purple and green bruises
left me lying on the floor
    left out the door
    left hollaring 'bout some more

    you left when you left
    threatening me, involving our son
left me no chioce but to run
    left to finally break free
    left to raise up myself

When someone abuses us, the person we have come to know, that loving soul, has gone. Very well written piece about a difficult subject matter. *deep sigh...
