    It was the Summer School
    Graduation ceremony

    and

He was only six years old

    He sang...

    "LEAN ON ME..."

    Acapella

    His black skin-white-teeth

    Solo

    and

    I sat
    On a wooden folding chair

    Thinking.....

He is only six years old

    He should be

    "Leaning....on us"

    Before the chorus
    Grows too old

    African suns
    Are for everyone

    School books don't just
    Buy themselves

    Someday...
    He will be more
    Than just

    Six years old

    and

    Every stage should hear

    His song

    I see him...

standing on the stage; no fear...children know no fear...
I hear his clear, soulful soprano ringing...one of God's own beautiful Black Cherubs.

Thank you for sharing this, Hunter! :)

    i loved this, hunter
    it was so clear...
and the little ones do have
the capacity to be leaned on
    sometimes
like the time my baby girl
    saw me crying,
    wiped my tears and said
    don't cry mommy
    as she rubbed my arm...
    they are so lovely
    thank God for the children!
