My mom is from North Philly and so are my mom's cousins...and they won't even let me come to visit. My mom's uncle was murdered going outside to pick up the newspaper.

That's wild. But jamesfrmphilly says it's better than it was 50 years ago. If that's true, it must have been really really bad in '64.
