    I saw her when she entered
    Her smile pierced my vision
    Searching my heart for cracks
    When I tried to look away;

    She never spoke a word just a
    Look informed me of her intentions
    That before this night was over
    I would be her completed conquest;

    My friends spoke of her style
    Gazing at her walk like a pack
    Of hungry dogs seeking a new
    Found innocent doe in a field;

    I never took a look for I knew one
    Glance at her would let her know
    That the things she saw within me
    Were hopes of a early morning meal;

    The Bachata played endlessly mixed
    With merengue and salsa and as I
    Made My rounds I was careful not
    to peruse Too long in her direction;

    I never smile as I work for it takes away
    The concept of authority, the seriousness
    Of the job and the focus on the need to
    Protect those who come to be entertained;

    As the DJ played the Mannikomo song fresh
    Out the package I saw her glance my way and
    Smile as she stepped onto the floor to meet
    The one whom asked her for this dance;

    I knew it was for me….

    She began her dance slowly, moving her hips
    To meet the pace of the music informing her
    Suitor that she will be directing this dance and
    She took a moment to glance my way and smile;

    She allowed her frame to be captured by the
    Song moving effortlessly with the drums and
    Horns dictating the pace, motivating the time
    And she allowed the music to take her in;

    I tried not to stare but her relationship with
    The sounds of the song kept me studious to
    Her sways and my mind wandered into places
    Unknown by my thoughts and true wishes;

    I closed my eyes and still she appeared
    violating my thoughts and entertaining
    my dreams as she absorbed her partner
    with the ease of a lioness after a fresh hunt;

    I imagined her moving my way, parting the
    crowd like Moses split the Red Sea and i
    wondered what lies behind the intentions
    held deeply within her stare into my eyes;

    I quickly shook away the visions of what
    could be and not what should be and opened
    my eyes to find the one i thought of had
    disappeared into the darkened crowd;

    The night ended and the crowds have gone,
    i lock the doors and grab my bag attempting to
    remove thoughts of one who was just a dream
    only to find her sitting on my car with a smile...
