For some reason, I doubt that tougher gun laws are the answer to the gun problems in the Wild, Wild West called America. A great many of the people who shoot to kill, have permits to carry concealed handguns. Black people have permits and still get shot by the police. How often do people buy a gun and go out and kill people with it the same day? So having to wait a few weeks for a background check may not bother some people. Mental instability can sometimes be instantaneous or it can build up over time. Anybody else see the movie, "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas? You may pass a background check but wake up one morning and decide you're pissed off enough to go out and do something real stupid. And what about the people who have guns, kill others then themselves? What's a "tougher" gun law going to do about that? Laws are broken every day and everybody knows there are ways of getting a gun other than through a licensed gun dealer. Ah, and what about 3D printed guns?
