Black Sports : lakers fire coach mike brown...

and rightly so. It's an offense designed to overcome a lack of individual talent.. not a problem that LA has.. Mike has never been a good coach.. but he apparently interviews well.

D'antoni is available.. and his uptempo style would be exciting to watch.. and his lack of defensive focus would be offset by having 3 of the best defensive players in the league in his starting 5 (Howard, Kobe, Artest). I wouldn't be surprised if he got the nod.

It's always about the formulating a scheme to fit your personnel as opposed to an alleged "one scheme fades them all" type of thing. That is basically (for the most part) the way to approach anything in life in my opinion, not just sports, but I digress.

As I stated in another thread the Clips are the buzz in LA...

The Lake show is history with all the old timers barely able to keep up with a younger and more dynamic NBA.

looking at the Clipper's roster..

22 Matt Barnes F 6-7 226 03/09/1980 UCLA/USA 9
1 Chauncey Billups G 6-3 210 09/25/1976 Colorado/USA 15
12 Eric Bledsoe G 6-1 195 12/09/1989 Kentucky/USA 2
5 Caron Butler F 6-7 228 03/13/1980 Connecticut/USA 10
11 Jamal Crawford G 6-5 200 03/20/1980 Michigan/USA 12
34 Willie Green G 6-3 201 07/28/1981 Detroit Mercy/USA 9
32 Blake Griffin F 6-10 251 03/16/1989 Oklahoma/USA 2
33 Grant Hill F 6-8 225 10/05/1972 Duke/USA 17
15 Ryan Hollins C 7-0 240 10/10/1984 UCLA/USA 6
6 DeAndre Jordan C 6-11 265 07/21/1988 Texas A&M/USA 4
7 Lamar Odom F 6-10 230 11/06/1979 Rhode Island/USA 13
3 Chris Paul G 6-0 175 05/06/1985 Wake Forest/USA 7
9 Trey Thompkins F 6-10 245 05/29/1990 Georgia/USA 1

they have a nice group of personalities and capability.. a few championship rings in there.. hard workers.. good decision makers.. and it looks like they could withstand a major injury in all positions except maybe the Point Guard spot. Other than Paul though, I don't see anyone on this Roster that can get their shot whenever they want.

So I wouldn't count the Lakers out just yet.. the roster they have is just a starting point, you have to know this will be a different team by the allstar break. As, the firing of Buster Brown illustrates, the Lakers management is ruthless in it's pursuit of excellence.. Can't say the same for the Clippers.. I mean this isn't the first time they have had a good roster. But I think the Clippers 4 and 2 start is what got mike the boot. They saw the Clippers loading up on Ammo, then looked at their coach dusting off one of the most boring offenses known to man, glanced at their 1 - 12 record (preseason included), and took a long stare at the size of their payroll then suddenly realized they had hired the wrong guy.. something we all knew as soon as they announced it.

anyway.. don't sleep on the lakers just yet.. there will be a resurrection.. Kobe want's to go out with a bang.

We shall see.

Crawford is looking good in terms of scoring coming off the bench and DJ has retooled his game scoring at career highs. Bledsoe ain't started to warm up yet.

Lakers...New coach won't solve problem with weak bench.
