    Hello Family,

    How can we tell the difference between knowledge and wisdom?

    Is there a difference? If so, what is it?

    Which, if either, has greater value?

    :heart:

    Peace my Queen,

    Very thought provoking question...................I humbly submit that:

    - they are both equal for you can't have one without the other -

    Knowledge is the foundation all things in existance & Wisdom is the understanding of that knowledge put into postive action!

    we can tell the difference by listening/reading what one says they know/follow/believe & measure that with their actions................

    Both Knowledge & Wisdom are 2 calming forces, but you can have knowledge without wisdom as knowledge can lead one to believe that their knowledge is absolute which gives birth to more aggressive & violent forces..................

    Peace & blessings Queen!!!!!

    They both have an impact and i too believe they are as Equal but i also
    feel Knowledge come first ..

    To seek and have knowledge gains wisdom ...

    Knowledge is understanding gain by actual experience which is a range
    of information a clear perception of truth it's what's kept in the mind
    Wisdom it the feeder of truth to the mind that allows one to give & share
    wisdom is insightof good sense , judgement of a wise attitude of course
    of action

    They both are commonly bonded as to Know-ledge-able-wis-dom
    it basicly don't divide self from the other and it's known by or you can tell
    from the Actions , speaking , Knowing truth , wording used or displayed
    by human beings .

    Knowledge is the first line as to wisdom is the backer

    knowledge we can have yet without wisdom but commonly
    once one holds knowledge of something or a place they also
    become wisdomize of it as well , so crossing one with a great
    knowledgeable mind will have useful wisdom to share .
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The down side of it is one can be knowledgeable yet display of actions
    will show lack of wisdom or feed into unworthness such as subjects
    or games even betray as knowing all, is also a down side of true wisdom.
    A wisdomize person will not display actions as such but hold an open mind
    to the knowledge being shown and act accordingly .
    (((please don't quote me it's JMO))) of it and what i feel they mean and which is
    stronger which either is they both hold the same value just to me one comes
    before the other but both come like walking left then right to move forward so
    Knowledge is learned by reading , listening , and wisdom is the teaching, speaking
    sharing knowledge.
    Hope i made some kind of sense ..........
    ..........I know that God gives us Wisdom, and Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;"
    I think it is necessary that we take advantage of both.
    sounds familiar.
    we seem to have a plague of individuals who have great knowledge of some things but not the wisdom to know what to do with it.
    some seem to have knowledge of all things that you can learn by memorizing a book but can not figure out how to get along with their brother.
    what good is this knowledge if the one holding it is so disagreeable that no one can stand them?
    we seem to have these prophets who live in some cave high in the mountainside who periodically dive down into the valley and tell us we should get ourselves together before flying back to their cave.
    feels like a bunch of precocious children around here sometimes.
    if we have so many gurus around here how come we can not get along?
    perhaps knowledge can come from studying the world around you and reading books.
    wisdom may come from examining your own soul.
    Knowledge is information.
    Widsom is the ability to properly use that information.
    I agree with these statements, Raf...
    Knowledge is also KNOWING, as the root of the word implies... KNOWING is also experience, and experience is what makes us wise... True wisdom evolves out of experience, not that which comes from a book, as JAMES has said... Wisdom is mostly accrued over time, yet can be compressed into a few moments if the experiece(s) is/are that powerful and life-transforming...
    Peace!
    You're right, exprience is truly the best teacher.
    I didn't always want to bear witness to this because I'm the type of brother that used to love doing things the easy way and thought my plans were so tight that I could escape the fate so many had fallen into in the struggle; but EXPERIENCE taught me that there is nothing new under the sun.
    We can sit and read books all day but unless we've actually experienced or seen something first hand, we can never really understand...can we?
    Oh, I forgot to answer her other question of which has the greater value.....
    Convential "widsom' would say that WISDOM has the greatest value, but my studies of history has taught me that's not always the case.
    The wisdom of Africa and Asia was far more ancient and deep than the techKNOWLEDGY of an industrialized Europe, yet the Europeans skill in weaponry and trickery allowed them to conquere and colonized much of Africa and Asia.
    So I don't know if wisdom is always better.
    What good is technology if you don't have the knowledge to use it wisely. This is what the european has done. He uses technology to conquer nature, only to have nature turn against him. This is not wisdom
