A policeman carries a baby to safety after masked gunmen stormed an upmarket mall and sprayed gunfire on shoppers

A casual Saturday morning at the mall turned into a siege of terror for unsuspecting shoppers in Nairobi, Kenya.
Attackers dressed in black and wearing facemasks and vests loaded with grenades sprayed the unsuspecting crowds with bullets from AK-47s.
"They just came in and threw a grenade. We were running and they opened fire. They were shouting and firing,"
said Jay Patel who was on an upper floor of the mall when the shooting began.

The Red Cross says at least 30 people are dead and 50 more are injured. The attackers held several dozen people hostage.

    Very sad story.

Besides, Kenya being the largest economy in East Africa; I also think they chose Kenya b/c they want Obama to get involved since he has roots there. I wonder what he will do.

Why can't people just live and let live. People take this fairy-tale religion thing too far..

He needs to stop giving speeches, lay off the drone strikes and quit letting some of those preachers lay hands on him.

He didn't even visit Kenya on his last Africa trip, so who cares what he got to say?

The more the Christian nations wage war against Islamic countries, what do you expect?

"We stood up and started to turn, and we heard machine guns," said Bendita Malakia, 30, of Elizabeth City, who had moved to Nairobi in July to work at a financial company. "Then, we started to run and there was a second explosion, which knocked us on the ground."

Malakia said she and a friend took shelter in a store with dozens of other people, and the store manager pulled down gates to block the attackers.
"While we were back there you could hear them methodically going from store to store, talking to people, and asking questions," Malakia said. "They were shooting, screaming. Then it would stop for a while and they would go to another store."

Elaine Dang, a 26-year-old woman with ties to San Diego, was also injured, according to NBCSanDiego.com.

Another unnamed witness quoted by The Associated Press said the gunmen told Muslims to stand up and leave and that non-Muslims would be targeted.

What Christian nation??? That's just more pointless Black on Black murder! Muslims consistently demonstrate that they are not a religion of peace.

This is why I don't talk about black people to white people. Even though the story clearly states that white people were shot at, some perhaps killed, what do we get from them: "It ain't sad - it's just black on black murder!" :news:

It's very sad and it is definitely Black on Black murder. I didn't see the part where they say that White people were shot at, but I'm sure some were. When Black people go into a mall in Kenya and start throwing Grenades, that's Black on Black murder.

"They just came in and threw a grenade. We were running and they opened fire. They were shouting and firing," said Jay Patel who was on an upper floor of the mall when the shooting began.

According to a U.S. official, eight to 12 gunmen may have initiated their attack by dropping grenades from a second floor balcony of the Westgate Mall before opening fire.
There were 30 American citizens, including embassy personnel, in the mall at the time of the attack, but they have all been evacuated and are accounted for, the official said. The are no reports of deaths among Americans.
