Kanye West in uproar over 'banned' controversial album art for 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'

I saw this and I can see why it won't not be on store shelves.

Personally I have nothing against him or his music.. he is out there with a white woman on this cover nude and wants to publish that. The music he said himself comes after the creative art and other creative things he does.

He should drop the cover and do his music... arguing this will loose him some support.

The messages contained in Kanye West music were much more powerful and thought provoking when he first arrived on the scene. Some of these messages included spirituallity, the struggle of blacks to thrive in white society, and family and friend oriented themes. But along the way his image has been assassinated time and time again. His music is becoming darker and more hateful towards whoever, he's been liable to act out In public more and more. Whatever he signed up for, sold his soul or not, it is taking a toll on him mentally, and spiritually.

I think Kanye is just misunderstood.

If you have seen his new short film, Runaway, the Pheonix is actually Selita Ebanks who is kind of light skinned, so that is probably who is in the painting.

Also in the film there's a lot of insight into his views. He says, "Never trust anything you see on the news". I found the film to be touching and imaginative.

I think Kanye's been battered and judged so many times by the media and it has struck a nerve with him. But you have to admit, he speaks the truth. When he said, "George Bush doesn't care about Black people" on TV everyone was thinking it, but too afraid to say it.

I think he gets a lot of flack for being "colorful" and opinionated. Usually popular mainstream rappers aren't supposed to have deep messages. The roots, Common, Mos Def are not really that popular so they don't count.

But if you listen to his new song, "Power" it talks about him almost committing suicide and being frustrated with "this white man's world". I think his feelings are understandable and people need to stop judging him. The media is making him look like some sort of evil psychopath when in fact he's just frustrated and expressing his emotions.

I feel you on Kanye being misunderstood and the media pulling a character assasination on his image. But too often lately Kanye has been saying one thing behind scenes, but puts foward a completely different message in his new music. Have you listened to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy?

When ever a black male creates something otherz want to do or say they call him gay.

Because in a black community they will get rid of him so that otherz can have his talent.

I just watched a few minutes of a tele-vision "channel" and it was about the rodeo and how they train a horse....

And the first thing that was obvious was that they were beating the horse with a stick...

Now .... first off some of you might notice a problem with the lawz right there.

    I hope you do ....

And next I hope you wonder the difference between Micheal Vick and the rodeo?????????

But back to the problem at hand ...

I dont think Mister West is gay ... I think he has talent and knowz that he is being held back....

I think it disrespectful to call people gay that keep saying they are not...

    Same as the terrorist issue

    And the Anarchist issue

And the blah blah blah blah blah........

Name calling is like a football game I dont like this team or that team then every getz together and attacks.... with tonz of fanz....

    And the biggest question...

Has any one asked what it means to him?????????????????????????

He could be a prolific painter expressing the rise of Black Women through disease and poverty????

Many painterz have painted beauty look at the statue of liberty or the cover OutKast did yearz ago with the women naked and water pouring down ...

Letz think instead of having otherz think for you....

I downloaded the mp3 last week but haven't given it a good listen yet. The following is a few words from Selita in a mtv interview:

"What he wanted was to create a work of art — focused on the magical relationship between West and Ebanks' breathtaking phoenix — that captured his creative rebirth after a difficult and demoralizing period in his life. Ebanks, who has known West since they worked together on Pharrell's "Number One" music video, could see the way in which her acting partner truly has changed and, in a sense, been reborn both as an artist and as a person.

"I've known him for a very long time, and I have to say, his whole outlook, his patience, the way he speaks to people, he's learned a lesson," she said. "The last few years of his life have been extremely hard. But it's like I tell him: 'Sometimes you have to go through those things. You have to be the phoenix.' "

Prior to this there was controversy surrounding nude photos of Kanye circulating on the net. Seems he was sending pics to some of his "friends" (female) on myspace.

I wont entertain the "gay" rumors. His current girlfriend is the "bombshell" for real!
