TOPEKA, KS - Witnesses trying to persuade Kansas officials to encourage more criticism of evolution in public school classrooms are making statements some scientists say betrayed creationist views. Witnesses in a State Board of Education hearing on how the theory should be taught also have acknowledged they hadn't fully read evolution-friendly science standards proposed by educators. Nor had two of three presiding board members. A board subcommittee had a third consecutive day of hearings Saturday, with a final day scheduled for Thursday. The entire board plans to consider changes in June to standards that determine how Kansas students are on science.

State and national science groups are boycotting the hearings, viewing them as rigged in favor of language backed by intelligent-design advocates. In turn, intelligent-design advocates contend they've been portrayed unfairly as advocating creationism. Intelligent design says some features of the natural world are so complex and well-ordered that they're best explained by an intelligent cause.

Repeatedly on Friday and Saturday, Topeka attorney Pedro Irigonegaray, representing the drafters of the evolution-friendly standards, questioned witnesses about their personal beliefs. Witnesses said they didn't believe all life had a common origin or that man evolved from earlier, ape-like creatures. Some said they accept the widespread scientific conclusion that the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, but two said they believe it is between 5,000 and 100,000 years old.

I believe that evolution is the process through which God’s Creations take place...

What are your thoughts on this?

Very Good Thread, This Is Just Another Way To Control The People Of Religion Etc , Etc . Though's . This Is Just Another Reason Why People Should Do Their Own Re-Search , Because The People In Power Are NEVER Going To Tell The Whole Story , This Why I Never Use The Net For Information Unless I'm Proveing One Of Their Mistakes , And As Far As Creation I Don't Accept The The Creator Story That God By WhatEver Name One Use Wave His Hand And Everything Came Into Existence, Thankyou < Aqil > I Can Use This .

Nobody was back there to know how life was created. Evolution, like creationism, is a theory and should be taught as such.

I dont see how evolution can be treated as the immutable truth when its only a theory. Any truthful scientist knows that there has to be intelligence behind creation. Life cant create itself. Why do people say they dont believe in God or the nbible because of lack of proof ? The same people say they believe in evolution but there is definitely no proof of evolution. People will say they believe in anything just as long as they dont have to believe in the one true God. Nature itself is proof of God and proof that he created it and that evolution is nothing but a lie from the devil.

Peace Aqil & Oceolo, Karma & Issa,

    - depending on your definition of Life!

we ALL follow some path to the Supreme, even what you call Atheist "believe" in God or a "God". For how could you NOT believe In what you say DOES NOT EXIST?? by this admission you are admitting that same existance!!

    - In regards to THEIR SCIENCE, this is OUR MATH turned inside out.........& while THEY were developing THEIR SCIENCE we were already EONS beyond that............

    - Alexander & his thugs did not burn all of OUR books, they just told us that while THEY studied them & could present OUR knowledge back to us in a way THEY thought we would not recognize........

    Peace & blessings.....

I don't believe in the Theory of Evolution.

I think it's a racist theory that suggests that black people are a lower species of human beings (if human at all) than white people.

How this theory works is that man and ape evolved from a common ancestor in Africa several million years ago and went their separate ways. The farther a man got the more he evolved and the more skills he picked up so that by the time he got to Europe he became "cro-magnon" and the well evolved white man.

If saying that those blacks still behind in Africa are LESS evolved and more like apes than the MORE evolved and refined white man in Europe isn't white supremacy....I don't know what is.

This is why some of you have to be careful about jumping on the band-wagon of these white archeologists who claim man is millions of years old and evolved out of Africa.

All you're hearing is the "out of Africa" part and are geeked to hear mankind started in Africa; but you haven't picked up on the fact that he's calling you an unfinished less evolved product while deeming himself superior.
