I'm not sure if this question has been posed or not, but is there a difference, in your opinion, between the concepts of justice and revenge? If so, what specific details distinguish the two? Thanks in advance!

    Peace,

Justice is a penalty or reward. I consider Justice a universal principle.

Revenge is a punishment and generally indicates some level of malice.

Thanks for the input. Justice might be a reward if it is on behalf of a victim or a victim's loved ones. However, if it is a penalty, what would distinguish it from revenge---especially since revenge is typically in response to a wrong of some sort committed against the avenger.

    Peace,

On the surface the differences are very subtle. From my perspective Justice is in harmony with righteousness. In this sense the reward or penalty is fair and unbiased. Revenge implies malice and/or hatred which has less to do with fair and unbiased and more to do with personal feelings. More than likely very highly charged emotions which will lead to the penalty being drastic and unrighteous.

    Peace

    IMHO -

Justice- is a universal law that takes place in an individuals mind and as the god said it can be a reward and or punishment according to one's deeds.

Re-venge - is the balancing of anothers actions, whether good or bad the same or something close is to be exacted! The deed does not neccessarily have to be done to the individual who seeks the Revenge.

"i can't believe what they did to Spider, when i see those guys i'm going to take revenge"

"I can't believe how much money she put in my born day card, i can't wait to get revenge on her born day"

    Peace,

Now you being a conscious and progressive black man gonna let the courts of the United States determine how you see certain principles and concepts? They are corrupt so how could they be good examples regarding a principle (Justice) that by it's very nature is related to righteousness? The system of white supremacy ain't never been righteous and in many cases neither has it's courts.

    Peace

    Peace,

It really doesn't matter who's running the courts. We're not talking about who administers what some might call Justice. We're talking about the Universal Principle of Justice. They are not necessarily the same. Courts can be Just or Unjust depending on how they're run.

    Peace
