Just talking to myself out loud
because my written words won't do
sometimes it's not about being right or proud
it's about the core that lies within you
My scribes are just not hitting their mark
    My written words are misunderstood
I've used nouns and verbs and strung them
together, but they just haven't done any good
Just talking to myself out loud
    because my intentions are misconstrued
I've tried to explain them, should I just contain them
when they appear to be thoughtless and rude?
Is it enough that I know my intentions are good,
well, good doesn't quite convey my feeling...
Honorable is a better word, pure is a good description
too, yes it's those darn words that have sent me reeling.
Just talking to myself out loud
because my spirit and essence are not being felt
what I thought was known about me, really isn't
here again, it's those words that hit below the belt,
right through to the core of me
Because it's me that truth couldn't see
My pen is weary, my mind is spent
from struggling to explain that which was truly meant
from a heart that I thought was truly known
could that reality be merely my own,
am I possibly the only one who knows my own heart?
Since my pen has run out of ink, my words and I are world's apart.
Doesn't really make sense to write and let my words sing,
if the words from my heart, don't mean a thing....

i think most writing has to come from the heart? wheter it means something is another matter

    but this line
am I possibly the only one who knows my own heart?

    i would say yes
people know you but they don't know "you"

    feel me
this was a deep piece poet
    felt the depth
but your piece is what writing is really about - letting it all out

    peace

No, people don't actually know "you". You just present a chunk of yourself, and hope that they allow themselves to see. Thank you, your words are appreciated Da Street So'ja.
So kind of you to say j'hiah, I'm glad you hear me loud and clear. Thank you so much brotha.

Loved your poem! I really felt you on having pure intentions from the heart and people seem to misconstrue things, sometimes you find out people who have "known" u for years really don't know you. Anyways loved that poem!
