Science and Technology : Just how much of our science and technology is faked

RISC-V 2023

The Intel x86 architecture is kind of obsolete because it has compatibility with 16-bits back to the 1970s. Linux did not exist back then.

It would be really amusing for Africa

Thanks

I'm a little surprised that this thread has so many pages.

The idea of faking science...

Suppose you wanted to fake-i don't know-the ability to generate electricity. For what purpose would you fake it? Science is the absolute WORST thing to fake because it's not really science (or accepted as scientific) if it isn't and cannot be repeated. That means, if you say you can do X,Y,Z because of A,B,C scientific laws and variables, someone else should be able to replicate your work (formulas, experiments, etc.) and get the same results and therefore come to the same conclusion.

Not only would it be REAAAAALLY embarrassing if they couldn't (because it would mean that you're a fraud) but you'd only be fooling yourself because it wouldn't be considered science unless they could use the same scientific method to verify what you were saying.

When comes to landing on the moon and things like that... we're talking about hundreds if not thousands of people working on these things. So what is the alternative? That hundreds of people all chose to collude about the same thing in a way that surely they would know would be found out? The embarrassment would be reason enough not to try it in the first place.

As far as the moon landing goes, you can do a google image search for "photos of the US flag from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter"

If it can be faked, it wasn't science in the first place.
