if native americans are paid for
past injustices and reserved on land
demarcated for them then why can't
    the descendants of African slaves
who are "reserved" on land demarcated
    by run down buildings
and leaky ceilings and crack pipes and
welfare kites and liquor stores and
    pulpits and the people
held hostage for the fear of flying bullets
    why can't we be paid...?

i figure that it must be
solidarity or lack of respect for us,
(by us) and that the reality that since
    we've grown further from
God puts us closer to slavery
...not no yokes or leather whips
but blue suited badges and demons
that stand on corners with full clips
    aimed at their reflection...

    stand at the intersection of
    reality and truth take note
of the people taking different routes
    to the american dream
    through red cap highs and
and letting ******* slip between those
    thighs for dollars...

    stand on thatcorner and holler
    wake the dead up
    wake the dead up
we have got to wake the dead up...

if native americans who belong to a tribe
    can get a monthly check...why can't I?
    where's my respect?...

This is simply an excellent illumination of truth.
Although I personally do not believe that cash reparations would be strategically beneficial to our community, I do believe that it is owed to our community and I applaud those who so eloquently champion it’s merits.
This poem is very well written.
