    Eyelids unlock,
    Pupils in shock,
I glanced at my wrist clock,
And realized that I had made another day.
And my mind retraces its steps,
To where the sun and the earth first met,
    Yesterday,
    And I reflect…
    I felt the heat rays,
    Showering me with warmth,
    A little bit too much,
It’s touch too close for comfort.
    And I began to sweat,
    My forehead dripping wet,
Messing up my nice, fresh set.
    Ever so conscious,
    And beginning to fret,
    I quickly glanced around,
And that’s when our eyes met.
    Feet steadily followed the path,
    Set by the eyes,
    But when it was completed,
    I realized that it diverted.
    Feeling quite embarrassed,
    Wasting a perfectly good smile,
And all the while, all that time,
Your focus was the one directly behind,
    Me…
    Oh well…
