    Course of a musical escape
from time past to time made
I look from the back to the front
time and time again looking at
those that have went and those
that are still in. I got a Billy
Holiday blues for my lover man
“Oh were did he go” to a Brook
Benton stanza of Kiddo. You can
sometimes find me on Blueberry Hill
but don’t ask no questions cause I
still don’t know the deal. I wander
to the pillow to post as I sink my
heart into *****es Brew I still wonder
who knew. Through this course that
I still take, it’s amazing the sounds my
Phonograph can still make, I wind it
up grab my cup of cappuccino that’s
near as I play the serenades of the long
lost and the dear. I still crave the flute
of Jean Luc Ponty as I hear cascading
keys of a slow melody of Ramsey Lewis
lost in the sea as he directs his music to
me. For a moment, I thought I heard
Nancy Wilson in the background talking to
Joe Sample at the Pecan Tree, I guess
it was just me hearing thangs I cannot
see. Let me lay here and close my eyes
as the phonograph continues to surprise
me with a delightful tune until noon.
This journey I will continue to take
because its not what you got its what you
    make…
