IUD'S Pros&Cons?

    I'm considering an IUD what are some of the pros and cons?

    they do not protect against STDs so you still have to wear a hazmat suit, therefore i think they are redundant nowadays.

    back in the old days before STD they were OK but they did make the women sensitive to deep penetration.
    the string gets in the way.

    I didn't know IUDs were still available. But anyway, in addition to not protecting against STDs, they pose a slight risk of causing ectopic pregnancy, a very serious and even deadly condition if not caught early.

    If you want a barrier method to use in addition to a condom, you should use a diaphragm or vaginal ring. These pose no serious threats like IUDs and are pretty effective in preventing pregnancy.
