Heard them preach
Heard them teach my people
Dreams of better days and better ways
For what will never come
Heard the peaceful melodies drum
Continuously in my mental
Although I’ve lived in my sin till
The daybreaks
Until my soul takes
A free fall
You see being true
Is being who I am
Not a woman or man
But she
Powerful black
Gay and in everyway
I shine
In divine
LIGHT
And the fight
For equal ways
Between straights and gays
Seems to drift away
And the words Bush says
“It just ain’t right!”
Although the sight of the real problem seems to fade
Jobs are lost but moral dignity takes the blame
Cuz bull**** is the name
Of the game
And politics plays the pieces
Ignorance never ceases in the face
The white man
The right man
The brown man
I’m down man!
Itz sick!
The trick the ploy
The girls the boys
Can’t see the doctor
Cuz momma can’t pay
Healthcare slowly fading
Benefits slipping away
But all you can see
Is me
My life
My strife
Cuz I choose a wife!
Itz sick!
Now that morality overtakes the government
Cuz now morality over took the government
It gives way to blind the real deal
To blind the real feel of patriotism
Too blind to get the real feel of equality
Cuz spirituality is the reason you stress the issue
But did you
Take a minute to look inside
See the beauty that is love
Although not defined by your words
You may listen but I am still unheard
Live life in my shoes as a conglomerate mutt
But know what
Really undermines this nation
Lies, fraud, judgment rhyme together in one syncopation
Sing your song of liberty
But die my your own hand
We will never reach unity
Until we try to understand peace
