**** the rap industry, there is a war within the souls of our black men that we need to fight first. Yeah the rap industry glamourizes everything that is negative about our community but that isn't the problem. Though I don't know the statistics I know that blacks men make up most of the population of American prisons. Our men are lazy, they sell drugs, don't want to work and they don't take care of their children. This is a hell of a stereotype. Here in Philadelphia it is partly true. 65% unemployment among black men. The nations highest murder rate. This type of rant is becoming cliche but before we fight the rap industry we need to start building boys to become responsible men who are ambitious and do not sit around and blame George Bush for their not being able to find a job.(I don't vote republican)

    welcome to the site.
this is a place that is about building with other positive black people. you seem to have a real hatred of black people.
i have lived in Philadelphia for 63 years now and i notice that white people and black people of the same education and economic class act pretty much the same.
the fact that you condemn the black people only indicates to me that maybe you should start by looking into your own heart.

    Clearing things up

Maybe I was Unclear. I love my people. What I don't like is the way that people dont take responsibility for the goings on in our community. Please dont take what I said as hatred. I would like nothing better than to uplift African Americans especially in a culturally siginficant town such as Philly.

Conflict ... i believe our loving and respecting each other is the beginning of the solution, not going to war with each other. That's what they want us to do, which is why it's happening now. We fight each other all the time. If that were the solution, the problem would be solved, as we've surely done enough of it. No, that's not the answer. If Black people were killing white people, like we kill each other, they would stop it. But because we're killing each other, it's okay. They don't want that stopped. They want it to continue. They planted these seeds long ago, and they are now yielding the expected fruit. Fighting each other, keeps our mind off of fighting them.

Yes, we have issues, but we are not inherently any more lazy, criminal, etc., than other people. Actually, there is evidence that we work harder than all others, as this country was built on the free labor of our Ancestor's blood, sweat, and tears.

The fact of the matter is, there are no other people as marginalized as us. Rather than make war, make the playing field level. Give young Black Men the same economic opportunity as young white men, and you will see a change.

The enemy is without, not within.

I agree with Conflict. His/her name speaks volumes. That's

the problem; Black folks seldom battle their inner conflict/demons, but want

to venture unto bigger battles. Hence the term your own backyard has the

toughest weeds to yank....so we take interest in 'fixing' the unfixable in

order to consciously divert our attention from what matters: our own selves.

Compare: If ALL people on earth took interest is weapons of mass destruction

what will the result be: Hell. Versus ALL people on earth focusing on

bettering themselves, individually, what would the end result be: Heaven.

    Prioritize

waging "war" on the concept of "war"

we need to "go to war" on this whole notion of "needing" to "go to war" on ANYTHING in this Symbiotic LifeForm that we call Earth/Life. the pineal gland need not go to war on the pituitary gland in an effort to "gain the resources" to gather in the appendix to wage a "final" "glorious assault" on the hippocampus!!

"gaining" "economic" "parity" only leaves one mired in the mess and only "gains" the perception that one "needs" to "go to war" on something. the only "change" such will bring is that we will be as ruthless and as doggedly determined to impose the exact same "oppression" as those that now "impose" this mess on everything. it is an inherent side effect of this whole "economic/capitalistic/corporate/religious" (the true "weapons of mass destruction"!) mess.

look at how the Besieged Divine African Mind now responds to efforts to bring It Up "out of Her". "we must take on the tools of the masters! we must use the same processes that they use!!" - which will only have the exact same effect as exists right now. seeking to bring the "weapons of war" into play to give us the "ability" to "wage war" "back"? what good is that? "an eye for an eye" only deprives everybody of the ability to See.

stooping to their level and doing the same damaging, oppressive dance as this "devil" is only going to breed more "devils". i don't think we actually truly want that?

I am relatively new to posting thoughts of mine on the internet. By war I didn't mean any type of physical violence between our people. I mean to say that we need to be more accountable for our actions. We need to not only raise our sons to be positive but our neighbors sons and daughters as well. All things that I try my best to do. I know that other races have their individuals who act up but I am not talking about them I am talking about us. Just because they do wrong doesn't make it okay for us.

welcome! yeah, a village is a nice place to raise a child. Bless You, Brother! and Thanks for going that Effort!

by "war", i mean any methodology where the implication of "fighting" is expected to achieve any result other than a desire/need for someone to do some fighting/war back. "methodology" to include capitalistic or journalistic or ...

i was more responding to usage in the title of both threads, as well as to how easily such a concept is used to describe so very many things. i can't help but wonder if this might be something to do with that "conditioning" we talking about?

don't mind me, this vision that has been driving me for so long is just having a bit of a need/demand to express itself occasionally. as i've found neither the correct canvas, nor materials, it is not always coming across very pretty. 'scuse, please!

    again, welcome to the Family!
