I giggled like a lil school girl
    as his thoughts were voiced
disgusted myself, floored at my action
tossing my hair, debating my reactions
    the things he said
    straight up hurt me
    and, my reaction, to giggle
to make jokes and wiggle my behind
    while inside, im screaming
    "its all lies"
the way i am with you
    is so not me
when did i stop standing up
    for what I believe
    when did i start giggling
    when i was intensely mad
    why am i scared to
    act on my pride
to tell you to get outta my ride
    you straight up did me
    and did me in
your lying actions nothin but sin
i can't believe ive done it again
lost myself and let you win

    i love it!

Sounds like a beautiful coming of age story. Been there done that. Sigh.. of relief. Some of us wouldn't mine being conquered. I don't think that says we're weak. Nurturers need not fight. Thanks for a beautiful post.

I agree with nikknikk19....This is some "looking at the woman in the mirror" stuff here.

....learning to learn from our mistakes/choices, empowering ourselves to not just tolerate but to dictate what is acceptable treatment by loving ourselves and knowing our self-worth.

....and when anyone, man or woman, disrespects you, to not just "grin and bear it".....but to just "grin and SHARE IT!" :nono:

This was an awesome piece....a mighty testimony in one's journey. Well done! :toast:
