i sympathize with those who empathize for me
they don't know what to do what to say what to think.
they look around the room like they can focus on the air
they look at the floor at anything but this chair
and i'm aware of the elephant in the room in the corner
i'm fighting not to scream, i cant ignore it any longer
no i'm not whole but what the hell, i'm here
how can you help me heal when you look at me with fear
if thats the case why dont you just tell me recovery is a dream
tell me i better learn how to steer this thing
call me a weak cripple, pull me out and hide my chair
spill hot coffee on my legs, hell. STARE!!!
do whatever it takes until you get used to me
but stop standing by the door like you can't wait to leave.

    i know what i am.
    it is not forever.
but how can my body heal
    until my mind is better?
i know you all mean well
    and i love for that
but if you can't deal with it
    then just don't come back.

Dang, girl, I really really feel for you. It's too bad more people can't just be open about their feelings. I wish I could be there because I would look into your eyes, talk to you and give you a hug. Much love and peace to you.

Well dayum...I hope I don't make people feel that way when I am around them, I imagine it can be annoying. You pissed me off at our insecurities.

Well posed piece here. It doesn't matter where we are, or what we are restricted by. It is temporary in the eye of time. Those who find it hard to relate. Just don't know how to say. They are with you.

    i know what i am.
    it is not forever.
but how can my body heal
    until my mind is better?

The key in healing has started. When you find yourself in a different place. Let your will take the power of your persistance and keep you. Looking up from a resting place can only be comfortable if you are.
