get that money...ain't no way
you take that from me

it ain't about the harlem shake
it's about the U.S shakedown
shake
shake
shake
shake
shake the populace out
of civil liberties

"give me freedom or give me death"

I saw freedom hang himself the
other day while big brother watched
and didn't do a thing to stop it
but he buried his lil' bro with no eulogy
see it's dumb to think your free...
[whoa, that was a jaw dropper]
let me repeat it it's dumb to think your free
[okay now let me bring that into full context]

freedom left before it came
and when it did, it discovered it was sterile
shot blanks, got hard for no reason
cause in theory it's state is flaccid

you really can't say what you want out loud
if it goes against the majority grain
or wear what you want to wear to get a job
or style your hair the way you want to without
being told that it's too "ethnic" here at the job
(they can tell you that without saying a word, you'll
hear it) or wearing certain clothes
without being dubbed "criminal" or being back and
male and not being dubbed "criminal"

there are enemies in this state
that want to know
what you eat
how you eat
why you eat
and when you eat

so that if you chew too loud
they can fix your plate with a little

lost job
and jacked up
credit rating and
misplaced email transmission
legal trouble
so you'll
die of a little

stress

it ain't about the harlem shake
that counts we were dancin' in the
slave quarters...that dance ain't new...

it's about how silent you can be
when you see
the constitution being raped.

(ya'll know they dubbed Langston a
communist)
