Does one mean the wedding ceremony, or the social regulations?

Marriage could consist of different criteria, so could one elaborate on the context of what one is using to refer to as "marriage"?

The attempt by a man and woman to live out the rest of their lives with each other without becoming involved with another union because the one you had did not work.

What can you point to in support of your claim, because I have searched the ancient records among people who look like me
and for the life of me I can't find it, but what I did find, is there is no record on earth where the so called black man
ever just had one wife. Even in ancient Egypt the king had many wives and many nurses to take care of those wives.
But I did find among the European tribes what resembles marriage ......Look at the Ice Man Inherentance by Michael Bradley and :"Shahrazad Ali" The Black Mans Guide to Understanding the black woman.
    And other books.
