While looking through and reading most of the threads that have to do with IR and politics, I have noticed some folks telling others that they are not black or they aren't African-Americans.

How do you come to realize that this is your position; to tell others that they are not black (that they are Uncle Toms or traitors), and not apart of this community because they do not share the same views as yours?

We are a great and beautiful nation of black people who happen to have different views and come from different backgrounds. We should be about respect and equality.

We aren't supposed to be shutting doors on each other, we're supposed to opening them.

SO...Who gave you the authority to do so?

In an audience of mixed ideals, I don't think that its fruitful to push either ideals (separatist or integrationist).

Black people survive the black experience in different ways.

I don't think it's my duty to tell them anything, however I can challenge them on their contradictions and positions around black issues

On the thread regarding IR, I found that folks simply had opinions, strong
or otherwise, about it. I fail to see how that implies that one is forcing their
perspectives on others. As if that is even possible in a message board loaded
with highly opinionated strong willed individuals...

Well in the IR threads...an individual would say they saw nothing wrong with dating outside their race and then another one would say something along the lines of "your not black"....

Regardless of one's views or belief system it still doesn't give anyone the right to tell someone that they are not black.

while I think it's easier on the kids if people stick with their own race, I'm not going to acuse people of "not being black" for dating out of their race.
