Should we settle for less from our men than the clothes they are wearing and the cars they are in.
Is it too much to ask that a true Queen can bask in the glow of her Kings "real" affection.

Is it something in the water?
Would you like it if it was done to your daughter?
Is it the nature of a man to take all he can with
never so much as a thank you?

For the countless things that they bring I want
    a lover and a friend.
Someone strong yet kind on whom (We) can depend.
Is it to much to ask from our men?
Every now and then I spot one with his child by
the hand or the tear on Sunday morning as he
    is shouting "AMEN!".

I refuse to give up so I guess I have to go on
loving and learning. I got to keep on fighting
like I have to keep on writing.
For the men in our lives and the love in our men.
Is it too much to ask that you join me my friend?

So we love you anyway, with your "baby Mama's "
and bad credit and all your bad choices and
silent voices. Is it to much to ask to complete the
    extended courtship ?

I don't want to be a 50 year old girlfriend!
I want to get to the "MAIN EVENT!".
And love one another the way we were meant.
Is it to much to ask that when taken to task that
you can humble yourself when you are wrong?

It's double trouble when you follow your heart,
while you are chasing your dream...
Do you know what I mean?
Is it too much to ask that I can drink from both
cups equally, pursuing life's works and being
your Queen and still have some left for myself?
I will gladly share all that I have ...with you!

Cause you are loving what I do in the boardroom
but you are not accepting me sometimes as a lioness
at home. Is it to much to ask of our men?
Sometimes it is good to be alone...
Is it too much to ask from the men in our lives that
we can love each other and leave something of
    ourselves for ourselves?

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

    Come Here Baby...

When you're right, I just want to slip it into cruise control and let her purr looking pretty, so all the other players can wish that they were sitting behind the wheel where I am... and baby, this time, you're right!
