Hey fambly,

Various entities throughout modern his story have used our struggle for freedom for their own agenda making us feel that what they were trying to do was for us when in reality we were tools laid aside when we had served our purpose and these people had no further need of us. This manipulation has invariably left us in a bad situation.

I just finished reading "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison where our protagonist gets caught up with folks who are apparently trying to create a socialist society which they refer to as a "new society." He is led to believe that he has authority as their spokesman in Harlem only to have them abandon Harlem just when he thought he was getting through to the people. They do this to deliberately create racial tension in Harlem so they can form alliances nationwide telling him they are individuals who must be sacrificed for the good of the whole.

A lot of us believe that socialism is the answer to the problems we are having under this capitalist system. But everything looks good on paper. A socialist system run by the same greedy racist dogs that run this capitalist system will be socialist in name only. We will still be the buffers whose well being must be sacrificed to the well being of the whole. Has anyone of you ever been told exactly what is meant by "the whole?"

I think it is time we developed some self determination and economic solvency instead of sitting back waiting for somebody to come up with a system that will solve all out problems. There is no such system.

It's easy to give up hope against such overwhelming power, but there are folks working on alternatives besides capitalism and socialism. all systems do come to an end.

Yes

I think it is time we developed some self determination and economic solvency instead of sitting back waiting for somebody to come up with a system that will solve all out problems. There is no such system.

The present system helps but also hinders as well, and is more about control then your well being. The system is part of the problem. IMO.

There COULD be such a "system" or a way of life, but we haven't reached the point of evolution yet. This system was created and i've always felt if we moved past the point of "possession", we could make life a living heaven for all, instead of the living hell many subscribe to.

But this cannot even start until humans move past pettiness, like wanting it all, wanting to rule the universe, jealousy, envy, apathy, selfishness and lack of compassion. Once we can see each other as each other this will work. But we are in a very juvenile setting here in amerikkka as well as other places with good people and a bad set up. Nobody expects much from anyone and when they do they look for the worse.

I agree with you that we need to set our own rules for life and existence. But that cannot happen if we still continue to view the world as "economics".

I can think of many ways to have a promised future if you may, without printed money.

I agree there is no system that will solve all our problems. Just to clarify, what are all our problems? Like poverty. Lack of self-determination. Lack of resources, freedom of identity and the control of our education system. We face a great many obstacles. The system or systems are the impending obstacle. It’s too large to make us all happy. There are too many people to sort through. I really don’t see us ever being content with a hierarchical system. Not for discriminate people. Only a live and let live Egalitarian cooperative system could do that. And those with large armies are not in favor of such a system….

So only if you create a small egalitarian village (cooperative) that is not a treat to the powers that be, could you live a life of self-determination.
You’ll need loving like-minded people and families, and the resources to put it together.
