Hey fambly, Various entities throughout modern his story have used our struggle for freedom for their own agenda making us feel that what they were trying to do was for us when in reality we were tools laid aside when we had served our purpose and these people had no further need of us. This manipulation has invariably left us in a bad situation. I just finished reading "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison where our protagonist gets caught up with folks who are apparently trying to create a socialist society which they refer to as a "new society." He is led to believe that he has authority as their spokesman in Harlem only to have them abandon Harlem just when he thought he was getting through to the people. They do this to deliberately create racial tension in Harlem so they can form alliances nationwide telling him they are individuals who must be sacrificed for the good of the whole. A lot of us believe that socialism is the answer to the problems we are having under this capitalist system. But everything looks good on paper. A socialist system run by the same greedy racist dogs that run this capitalist system will be socialist in name only. We will still be the buffers whose well being must be sacrificed to the well being of the whole. Has anyone of you ever been told exactly what is meant by "the whole?" I think it is time we developed some self determination and economic solvency instead of sitting back waiting for somebody to come up with a system that will solve all out problems. There is no such system.
