is al sharpton...?
maybe a better name would be opportunist, any opportunity to stand before the cameras or get his name in print, like that other giant of black leadership, all in the name of our people...[wink-wink].
Al Sharpton is doing what he can to save GRACE. There is rumors that his collegues (CHURCH LEADERS) are not seeing EYE to EYE with AL SHARPTON (not supporting him in ALL his ENDEAVORS) in his NEW YORK stomping ground. So Al Sharpton is trying to BROADEN his SUPPORT just as OBAMA BARACK did in a NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN.
Why be STUCK in one place of STRIFE and no SUPPORT?
There are plenty of NEW ALLIANCES that can be FORMED.
I've never understood why some of US have a problem with Al Sharpton.
Anyone care to explain?...
Not that I have a problem with him, but why should we appreciate him?
OK. Why not. Why shouldn't we appreciate him?
This is not a loaded question. I just want to know what issues, if any, we have with Al Sharpton.
I will give ONE example and state that "I" have a problem with SOME of his political "allies"...such as Najee Ali.
I can understand "political opportunism" to a certain degree but when one flies into town for "photo ops" and then is in the company of unpricipled "activists" such as Najee Ali......well......
i cant really go into some SPECIFIC details...
but it concerns one of my aunts who is a local business leader...
and a friend of Maxine Waters...
Knowing some things from the INSIDE makes it difficult, and in some ways imposssible for ME to "follow" this type of "leadership".
My issue with Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson:
Philadelphia murder rate for 2007: 110 and counting. Jesse SharpJackson no where to be found.
Anywhere USA, 1 black person murdered or slandered by anyone non-black, there is Jesse SharpJackson, TV cameras in tow.
People have really seen to be hating on these two men lately. Money has to be made, IMO they bring attention and results to adverse circumstances.
More than the people complaining do. They are our elders who have helped to bring change, respect is due.
