    Ever been called "old"?

Ever been told you were too "young" to understand?

Is age nothing but a #?

    What is your take?

No. Age and Aging are very real.

Yes, I have been called old, mostly by my younger students.

Yes. I was told I was too young to understand, when I was much younger.

However, my students often tell me I look younger than I am.

I say.. it depends on context.

I have always admired older people. I have always considered it a blessing to have lived through all that they did and to be able to speak of it.. and to learn from it.. and to be able to transmit those lessons to the next generation.

I won't say, it's nothing but a number.. but I'll say that in the context of now.. we are both here.

No, but I've been called "big woman" by a kindergartener, LOL

    Yes, a whole lot!

No, it gives people insight to how many years you've been here on the earth, thus, it lets people gauge where your understanding might be compared to others your age, and if demonstrated beyond that or below that, one can see how quick or often you spend time searching wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

My take is, don't discriminate because of someone's age. Don't count them lesser, but don't automatically count them more. Give a bit of room for those that are younger since you were once that age, but give a bit of respect and humility to those that are older since you haven't been there yet.

Age ain't just nothing but a number, because we wouldn't even care to keep tally if it were.
