    he laid across from me
    speaking
    about how he wanted
    to be touched
    by something other
    than greying clouds

    ... i looked at him

    i wanted to touch him
    with just one truth
    -- perhaps the only truth
    i know --
    that he should spend his
    life learning how to
    committ to love
    and to stop fighting it
    as though it were a
    disease ~ without a cure

    but his heart was closed
    and eyes thought to be
    opened by disillusions
    that came flittering out
    of him like crows against
    a pale sky
    landing at my feet

    a decaying monument
    of flowers
    with eyes full of yesterdays
    that can not move
    beyond tomorrow

    i laid across from him
    and looked at him
    wrapping myself in silence ...

    listening to him
    speaking about how
    he wanted to be touched

    and i thought to myself...
    for my truth, I'm afraid,
    he would
    not comprehend ...
so i will not touch him today

    i came...
    seeking a touch
the warmth and gentleness of your heart's caress
    yet
    you've neglected me
    ...rejected my offerings of longevity.
    thinking i couldn't see
    beyond your fear of me

    was i blind
did vanity destroy your view of me
what was it i didn't see
    show me

my mind's view is wide open
    i was hoping
    that we could be one
maybe a little daughter and son
    to carry on our legacy

    touch me with your truth
    that i might feel you
    through the greying clouds
    that blocks my view

    I DO.

    hear me.

    This spoke volumes, my sista!

Very well done! I am in 100% agreement with sista Joyce. Too many women would try to force their way into that dead zone ~ (his heart)

    Tight!

i see that TOO MANY women have had TOO MANY bad experiences around here...been through TOO MANY heartaches and not enough walks by the lakes...TOO MANY saddened faces trying to get to hidden places...TOO MANY.

allow me to say, I'M SORRY...for the pain you've endured
the sleepless nights...and, tears, you've endured
the lonely hours...in the night, you've endured
the hopeless men...and helpless boys, you've endured.

    i'm sorry.:(

    Sustah A....

...and at one time I was part of that growing statistic
trying to force myself, my love, my very being into that
    "dead zone"...
With time we sometimes certainly get wiser!!
    :)

Glad you enjoyed this piece... :)

baller :eeek: what's gotten in to you???

Yes ... it may be true that some of us sistahs have had
bad experiences with relationships & with men in general,
however, there's no reason for you to feel that you must
bear the burden and/or apologize for any of those negative relationships...

I would like to mention that as a 'writer', even though I
may write about the saddest of things, the most pleasureable things, melancholy things, or even worse/better, doesn't mean
that the writer is writing about their "current" situation....

Example... in this piece... I'm not writing about anything that
happend to me today, yesterday, or for that matter, last year ...
I'm simply taking an opportunity to write ... to express ... to
flow.... just to reach inside of me & pull out things that either are considered "experiences" whether they have happend to me personally or whether or not they can or do happen to others....

So smile  stay loose, don't get so INTENSE upon reading these scribes..... it's not necessary for you to be "sorry" about anything that you have absolutely no control ova.... :)

:nono: I'm shakin' my head...about your response ...and I'm  laughin' thinkin' wow :eeek: baller has issues :eeek: and our sisterly scribes are throwing him ova da edge!! Pull it back 2getha sweetie, you'll be alright :smokin:

I gotz nuttin' but  for you .... (and a couch, and a psychiatrist, and an free hour long session  work it out  )

Stay LIGHT!! Love ya' doll

    Much  N2
