    The moment irrational, location
    Indifferent. Caught in a whirlwind
    Of thought. Nothing remained
    But self-confession. Frustration
At my pillow. Not soft enough
Beds too cold, too warm. Moon is up.
Seeking comfort in darkness, half past
    The witching hour. Silence from
    An open window. Pressurized breathing
Silent shouting. Voice, when it came,
    Heavy and sedated, stuttering cold
    Limbs shifting in blanketed fold
"WHY?" I asked again of the void
But I had not misheard, it spoke clear
    "Insomniacs never dream", the reply
A gold laced voice of irrational reason
Nothing again, faced a small death
In a blinking eye. Night creeping past
Ten after three. Clock always ticking
With a droning fan and creaking floor
An endless cycle. Symphony of sound
Bent on domination. Of a sleeping mind
With eyes open. Weary traveler of time
Two to four. Another coarse cry
    "WHY?". No answer lurking, silence
Eyes falling. Self loss and absorbtion
    Sleep abortion. Thunderous voice
    "Insomniacs never dream", the reply
Dark clad voice of forgotten memories
    Lost again. Searching the ceiling
    Patterns in the paintwork, abstract
Thought. Six and thirty the clock cries
    Piercing screams of irreality. Sun
Striking a tired face. Slam the button
    Ironicly labled "SLEEP". If only
It were so simple. Push button relief
Calm for a beaten mind. So came the cry
"WHY?". Can't stop the day or run away
    "Insomniacs never dream", the reply
Haphazard in delivery, a wisp from night
Left over remnant of a bygone moment
Too late for restitution. A new light
Dawns as many times before. Unrelenting
Eyes open to hide an exhausted soul
No rest for the restless it would seem
    Insomniacs never dream.

    infrequently sleepy

Musings from a tired mind, sleepless nights are a hell I wouldnt wish on anyone. No such thing as a nighttime daydream.

    Thanks,
