    INGRDIENTS FOR A POEM
    By Andre Austin

So what is the main ingredient of a poem to write
Two dynamite sticks of maybe 2 or maybe 4 cigars
A bic lighter of course for a flame for ideas to ignite
A can of cherry coke, A desk, a fan and a candy bar

An inspiration of something that’s happy or sad
Then I launch the prose or poetry from my pad

I don’t **** out poems from despair or torment that’s not my ride
I dream of horses and saddle or doing the tango from side to side

Or doing the Morris day walk
Or imitating Bishop Don Juan infamous talk

Or watching Youtube collection of old Ali fights and interviews
Then my poems rise up to take a little view

Listen to some old school rap, jazz and other funky stuff
I’m very concerned that my Rhapsody poems do not bluff

Looking for historical notes, or current social or political issue
I want my poems to be Atomic bombs or love tears needing a box of tissue

My poems made me an international London lover
But I haven’t converted them into a wining lottery for a 4 leaf clover

With that I need more poems to bring more luck
At least my poems can produce a good suck and F..u.ck.
I don’t need no professor or a college book
Just a righteous vision with a good look
Not a stone building getting on a debt hook
The University is a criminal enterprise an affiliate of crooks
I try to keep a good heart and clean my brown little nose
And this is the ingredients of all my poems and prose
I want my poems to have a furious excitement; an ingredient I like to cook
And lie not rotting lonely in a grave with the creatures near Vandercook
