Info-moetry over 500,000 thousand were evacuated...the population of Barbados is just over 280,000. More people were evacuated than the total population of Barbados...this is very serious. Imagine winds at over 200 miles an hour.
I have a friend that lives there; I sure hope he's okay. Haven't heard from him for a bit, but he was telling me about the weather the last few times we talked.
Happy to have gotten his call today. He's okay! Yay!Everyone can go back to their own lives now.
the white man done messed up the weather…….
That's nice to hear, but what about those who had to evacuate and can't go back to their lives. Not even to speak on those who died.
What do you mean what about them? I have no control over what happens to them. I can only speak for my friend, that I've gotten word he's okay.
Pray for them perhaps?
It did sort of sound insensitive to others what you posted at first, ...but you being a good Christian gal, I'm sure you meant well.
I didn't say I couldn't do a thing for them, I said I have no control over what happens to them or what has already happened to them, for that matter.
What I at first posted was a joke, as in, I know hardly any cared what was going on in my life with my friend, so it's not like anybody paused their life to find out what happened, really; it wasn't meant to be taken that seriously. People take so many things the wrong way, almost always assuming the worst.
Overall, I was just happy to hear he was okay, and shared that just because. It wasn't to say he was the only one who mattered, as it seems some might have assumed.
I've been through horror like what they are going through; I lack no compassion towards them.
