Teetering atop the line of its ridge
Balance is essential because Life is a bridge
Constructed with a high, slippery crest
So, don’t lean too far out….its got a flimsy parapet
And don’t look down…cuz there aint no net!

But, one can conquer its sloping heights
No matter the riots another incites
    Trying to block your progress
But no specific address defines your success
So, East or West/North or South
    As you traverse and proceed
Only your compass sets the lead...

And yes, there will also be
    Much loud, opposing deafening noise
But to be distracted only destroys
    Your concentrated poise
As you fight to keep your footing
    Stride-by-stride, decisively putting
One foot in front of the other...

It’s like a battle over turf rights to gain
But, one must constantly lay assured claim
That it belongs to YOU….by “Eminent Domain!”

    cherryblossom,

Amazing write poetess...lay assured claim by eminent domain, thanks for arresting the act of teetering with that powerful close, for real.

So very, very true.......second verse spoke to me--loudly!
Someone once said, "whereever you go, there you are........" This poem reminds me that where ever I am, I need to claim it!

Thank you, Brother Clyde! "Teetering." Cute. I like that!

However, no matter what "buffering winds" may blow, "On the Solid Rock, I stand. All other is sinking sand."

Sister Joice, thank you! I'm pleased that you were affected by my words.

However, I like that quote you gave and the lesson attached to it with my piece. So, you've given me a thought as well! :toast:

Yeah sister cherryblossom, very welcome indeed, no need in seesawing while standing on the Rock, for real.

Seizing the reigns of your own destiny is the only way to be sure to excel to a level...you alone must seek.

Especially, since you only have one life to live.

Words of wisdom shine here..poet. Well done!
