I didn't hear the raindrops on my roof
The wind didn't try to rush through the window frame
    The storm never came
Leaving me cold as I sat before the fire
Waiting for warmth to build within me
Then settle me in the comfort of the storm

But there would be no warmth tonight
Just a cold and careless sensation
Like sitting on a cold toilet seat in a public bathroom
Can't wait to finish and leave
But there is nowhere for me to go

    Looking through the window
I see the storm far to the west
    Hovering but not moving
Teasing me with the joy of it's nature
    Through shivering lips
I asked it to come to me
Begged for the excitment only the storm can bring me
    The warmth from its energy
    Once mine at will
    Now just a passing cloud
    Cold in its grayness
    Feeling sorry for me
Perhaps even laughing at my misery

I love playing through a storm
Running with it from something to something
In the warmth of a storm
    I find something else
    Each strike of lightning
    Each roar of thunder
    Moves me
    Soothes me
    But not tonight
This night the storm is for someone else
    I'll be happy for them

    BE
