    Shhh~this won't hurt a bit

In a whisper she was lost
    as her innocence was
    tossed aside
    and replaced
    by his need
    to violate her body

    the sounds of stale breath
    reverberating in the inner sanctum
    of her eardrum
    words riding on the
    wave of fear
    that crashed against the shores
    of her childhood

    her body freezing
    into a stillness
that was born of a different
    kind of coldness

    and she screamed inside
    with a deafening silence
    as his diseased fingers
    took away pieces
    of her future

    invading
    her pre-womanhood
    like a virus

    exploring
    internally and externally
    raping her with
    his fingers

    degrading
    her femininity
    with the vileness
    of his touch

    forcing her to witness
    his masturbation~
    the culmination
    of his
    self-manipulation

    and while he was cumming
    down from his state
    of pleasurable perversion
    she took the opportunity
    to slip away

    taking her body with her
    but leaving
    everything else behind

    and somewhere on the wind
    she thought she heard
    a whisper

Shhh~this will be our little secret

    and
    it
    was

for all the little girl/women this happens to, it seems the biggest hurdle is realising it's not your fault...sometimes that can take years to come to terms with...but when you do, I agree..SHOUT...
and keep shouting until somebody hears you....because there are a lot of people out there with deaf ears...

you know Kitana ... i have an 8 yr old and she begged and begged
to be allowed to catch the bus to school like her friends!
so i let her ... at first i was letting her walk to the bus by herself
after i saw that she knew the way and everything ... then my
heart got really heavy ... worried ... i started thinking that if
someone grabbed my baby on her way to school i wouldn't know
until 8 hours later when she didn't come home that evening

needless to say ... i walk her to the bus every morning now
and am standing there waiting for her to get off

    she hates it!

    :)

I know where you're comin' from...

we live in the country but whenever we went to town and my daughter was allowed to go the movies or a dance, I waited up and picked her up...she also hated it, said it embarrassed her, my husband thought I was being paranoid...but no man ever forced his hands on my daughter.. she may have been embarrassed, I may have been paranoid, but she was always safe....

    Kitana,

Your work expresses the horrible abuse children experience. They are always so visual. This piece touched me so deeply, as well as your other work. It made me think what I would do in a situation like that. I couldn't imagine someone forcing themself on me. And these children endure conditions such as that for years. It's an awful thought. My heart grieves for them. I have to admit it is very painful to read them and it saddens my heart when read, but closed eyes need to be opened. Thanks for sharing. You are a great writer.

    ...i'm speech-less.

this piece doesn't hit home for me
"personal-ly"... but i could feel every
single word. i have to agree with
those who have spoken before me...
you are a fantastic writer!! the picture
    you painted is both vivid&poignant.

    thank you for sharing this...

Rich..thanks as always for the read and the comments...and keep on walking the little one...people like this aren't selective..and I believe that the ten or so minutes it takes to ensure their safety, prevents a lifetime of pain if they are not safe....

Coco..your comment about my words saddening you and being painful is something I hear from a lot of people..it saddens me to write them, to know they exist...but I know from experience, that they do...I've tried many times to stray from this type of writing, but something always pulls me back..so now I accept it..lol..glad you appreciated what I had to say my friend...

GA...ahh you are too kind...but I thank you so much for feelin' the message I give in my words....and if the picture is vivid, then the impact is more powerful and one more person might take notice..as you would have gathered by now...abuse is any form, especially against children is something I feel strongly about....and it's always warms my heart to read your comments and know you appreciate my words...
