Imagine if we could take a day
and put our talents and intentions into play?
Imagine that.

Imagine if we could---no baby, not sail away,
but take a stand, confront the issues of our day..

Imagine if we took collective action
to remove all obstacles we agree are in our way..
and without regard to how and when they got to where they are;

My Brother,
Imagine if you could lend me your shoulder
--no, not for burdens to bear or tears to cry,
but for pushing.. understand? for pushing--
Imagine that.

Imagine if we could put our minor differences aside,
or better said: if we could bring these things we have in common
to the forefronts of our minds..
and synchronize our passions and actions to coincide
---imagine that, yeah--imagine that.

imagine what we could do---me and you,
I mean really.. what we could affect if we just put our minds to..
Imagine what a difference we could make.

imagine if we decided up front not to be
co-opted or cajoled into any activity that would distract us from our goal..
and if that means missing championship games and superbowls then
imagine if we let it be.. imagine if we made it so.

Imagine if we,
replaced them superbowls with Futurebowls and crowned our kids champions,
and wrote new definitions for the alley-oop and the give-and-go..
put the energy we use for remembering the MVP of 1983
into each one, teach one to succeed.

Imagine what we could be, as a people, as a nation, as a new African society
if only we could imagine that..

Any child who has been exposed to any aspect of African art or folklore, can see the utilitaarian aspect of culture,
from the intricate meanings and symbols of African textiles,
to the inner symbolic meanings of the various statues and ceremonial masks,
to the architecture, of the Dogon, Great Zimbabwe, Kush and Kemet.

What becomes apparent and impacted upon the inner mind of the child is the dynamic,
focus and dynamic purpose of Creativity

and the Expression of the

Imagination as a Tool,

for the Collective Good,
Progress , Prosperity, Health, Welfare, and Spiritual upliftment

From reading this we must analyze the situation of Black folks in our city or town, state or country,

continent or hemisphere, and examine is the condition of the large masses of Black folks exponentially getting worse ?

or better?

and if worse, then what is the content of our day-dreaming,
that we do for 2 out of 24 hours?

were is the focus of our imagination?
surely we idealize the good of ourselves family and children, but

is there at least 15 minutes out of that 120 minutes that we have focused on the common good of the race?

Does our altruism start in the heart and mind?
And is that really such a great price to pay for a brighter future?
