ramblings from the hope chest

Passages
in life we go through

Passengers,
some of us on the local ~ making several stops along the way

a few of us riding briskly on the "A" train,
more certain of our destination

Baggage
we carry...
some in streamline suitbags with pockets smartly hidden -
some, in tattered suitcases, bulging at the seams
held together by old rope....
(false hope?)

Destinations
vary

going to
anywhere but here

with hopes that tomorrow is much better

(knowing that heart break and heartache are good places to be
from)

running to, anticipating sweet love
at the end of the line

"think I got too much luggage"
(but I told him I was coming)

"need to shed some of my **** baggage"
(will he accept me as I am?)

Passages, we go through in our lives
new chapters to be written
old stories gather dust

as they must

"I told him I was coming"

(wonder if he'll be waiting)

for us
for new
for my love to move in
for life
for 'true'
for 'always' to begin

"I'm coming...."
