I'm A Strong African Woman

I'm a strong African Woman, that I am...
and if you only see my weakness
I really don't give a d-mn

I am the very first giver of life.
I hold the power to make war,
and the power to bring peace,
like the music I created,
to calm the savage beast.

I fed and nourished nature
then watched it multiply and grow,
I am Infinity that teaches all
you can only reap what you sow.

Every man, woman and child
that grabs the silver spoon,
is life that was born
from the darkness of my womb.

Then they sought to strip my native tongue
and keep it out of reach,
but it was I ...the strong African Woman
who gave the world their speech.

All great men, in history's test
are men that were nourished
from my African breast,
I taught them everything I knew,
and watched with wisdom, as they grew.

Then birth, I gave to prophets, sages and kings,
as only "I"... a strong African Woman
into their life can bring.

I'm the original virgin mother
the Queen of heaven and of the earth,
now what reasonable person,
could dare challenge my worth?

Long before the concept of God came into being,
it was "I"... the African Goddess,
that the world had been seeing.

Even in my darkest hour,
when I was gagged and bound in chains,
I proved through strength and wisdom,
that I would rise again.

So don't ever dream that you,
or the world could hold me down,
for it is "I" ...the strong African Woman
that truly wears the crown!
