    Peace

The story of ignorance, oppression and sin,
That is the story of the world we live in.
It started off all nice and green,
The “beautifullest” thing ya’d ever seen.
But corruption, greed and envy were introduced,
And the world’s beauty was greatly reduced.
    Greens turned into browns
    Men started actin like clowns.
Went after the money, thinking it was the ultimate goal in life,
Forgettin bout their God, children and wife,
The shackles clamped around their ankles restricting their reach,
They never heard tha prophets when they started to preach.
Warnin of the bondage and slavery that the invisible shackles
They just wanted tha money, who cared about tha hassles.
Some men stayed true and never felt the shackles’ weight,
Others who were undecided surrendered to tha bait.
Saw tha Rolex’s and the ice gleaminin’ on other men’s wrists,
Didn’t see tha colour change and those hands turn into fists,
When those same men realized their mistake,
What they had risked and put up as stakes.
Dignity, integrity and one’s own self-worth
Those were tha things that they put forth,
In exchange for the invisible shackles that they now wore,
And you wonder why a true believer’s soul is sore.
For how can one not grieve and cry after this story’s sad tale,
Oh how men try and still they manage to fail.
The story’s ending is not easy to decipher or see,
For still the invisible shackles are after you and me
