This science vs religion thing is old but I don't have anything better to do tonight. So, I'll bite.

-- ‘Science’ is the study of the Natural World. Anything beyond this is ‘supernatural’.
-- 'Science' does not explain the mystical/spiritual/supernatural. It's not supposed to.

Faith motivates you to go to work? Odd.
Does faith come in 'greenbacks' now?
Well, whatever else you do, don't claim it.
The govt will just find some way to tax the s--- out of it.
Anyway -- what has science settled on?
Too funny. I'm not even going to 'go there' with you on the hilarious irony of you questioning the validity of scientific research and discovery using the major crowning achievement of the century, i.e., the internet, etc...to do so.
This about sums it up, for me:
HA!
I have a problem with researchers who treat their research like it’s some strange religion, too. For that matter, am I the only one who finds String Theory...a little ridiculous?
Human beings are inclined to do things like this.
...but that’s the beauty of science: There’s a built in self-correcting mechanism. The findings are what they are. Either something is true or it isn’t. You cannot support a position -- cannot maintain belief -- in the face of no evidence or overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
That makes no sense.
But, all this talk about 'what science has done'? I don't understand.
'Music'... was the last major contribution of The Church and since the 1500's, it (and a fair amt of it's kooky cultist followers) hasn't done s--t else on a global scale BUT create chaos, deceive and molest children.
We all know what the world looks like when the evolved religious folk run shop. The Church had ppl believing that they had to ‘tithe’ their way into heaven and the rest of the ‘civilized’ world spent their time accusing the smart ones of heresy, blaming the Jews for every plague known to man and burning innocent midwives as witches...when they weren’t mass-killing/force-converting pagans in the Old World or sailing all over the globe to, uh, ‘free the hearts and minds’ ... *laugh*... of the nonwhite ‘unsavedtrash masses’ in the New World.
If it weren't for the free thinkers and research, the 'civilized world' would've never left the Dark Ages.
Religion has it's uses. But it holds man down. Holds him back. Stifles his potential.
It always has.

Vampires fear the cross; because their teeth are false. Anyone dying from a vampire attack was because they were laughing so hard from being gummed.Faith is what motivates us to go get a job, get up in the morning that we will survive the day, and that there is more to existence than just man's limited science. By the way, what has science settled on. Is Butter best or, Smart Balance buttery spread?
