Outrage over Holtzclaw’s alleged crimes is muted because this country likes its black women and girls either invisible or for consumption; it always has. Nothing has changed but the weather.

Daniel Holtzclaw, a former Oklahoma City police officer accused of sexually assaulting and raping 12 women and one underage girl while on duty, is on trial this week.

You may not know his name because his alleged victims are black. That fact has led to blink-or-you'll-miss-it mainstream-media coverage and either lukewarm interest or outright apathy from almost everyone who isn't also a black woman.

For all intents and purposes, it has rarely been against the law to harm AAs, regardless what is in print

KING: In the trial of white Oklahoma City cop Daniel Holtzclaw accused of raping multiple black women, every single member of the jury is white

When Oklahoma City Officer Daniel Holtzclaw was arrested, he was outside of his gym. Just a few years after his failed attempt to play in the NFL, the former standout linebacker at Eastern Michigan University still very much looked like a bodybuilder. Standing at 6-foot-1, weighing 260 pounds with a broad neck and biceps, he cast an intimidating presence.

Twelve different women and one underage teenager all recounted that very presence when they came forward to accuse him of various forms of rape and sexual assault.

If there is a double standard being alleged by your reposting

No, I thought I was significant that the entire jury was white.

Let us just agree to disagree too

All are subject to being held accountable by a jury of their peers

Also this must be factored in if the defendant is a former police officer and some of them are current ones

    Yes the jury should include
    people of diverse backgrounds etc

But be ever so cautious about what you're claiming about
white people in the states circa 2015

Or others can and will claim the same things about you as well

    fyi

He may have to serve 263 years in prison. Dude wasn't crying because he felt remorse, like some claim. He was probably forcing tears hoping the judge would take pity on an ex-cop. I believe he felt he could get them to be lenient on him, during his sentencing in January, and let him serve his time concurrently as opposed to consecutively, because the former would mean 30 years max. Verdicts read(and his tears start) at around 5:12 mark.
