Did I land on the right planet because
I'm on an Earth where grave caskets are like gift baskets
In which souls are decorated with R.I.P
I hear continents grieve this world
But I don't want to leave this world
With a full stomach of truth unsaid
Before I go, I want this heart to have bled
Enough that even when I'm gone, my presence is not dead
    I want to die empty
Meaning simply, that my mouth will have nothing else to say
Because I would have wanted to say everything already
I see too many black people waste away, with an incomplete mission
Because of stupid decisions, with baggage under their eyes
Because it's heavy when you carry blind vision
Before I go, I want this universe to strangle me
Mangle my voice so much that I'd have to whisper gently
    Entangle me with poetic epiphanies
    Constructing me artistically like Picasso
I want the cosmos to kiss me under eternal mistletoe
I want my soul to look confusing
So people would want to study it
I want my heart to be amusing
So people would like to humor it
Before I step into my grave, I want to save at least ONE
One step closer to saving millions
Reinventing heroes who were once victims
Who are aching to say something as well
It's like hell burning inside, when you have to hide what needs to be expressed
I want to be possessed with truth
    Caressed with truth
    Be the accomplice of love
And hug intelligence so hard that it suffocates
I want my family to celebrate
When I get the opportunity to read my poetry with God face to face
    I want to die empty
Because I've seen too many in real life and on TV
Die FULL with potential, FULL with ambition, FULL with originality
Passionately knowing that those are riches too precious to take on the other side
Killed with things not fulfilled has no room for compromise
I've seen some die FULL with unspoken love, FULL with dead dreams, and FULL of themselves
I don't want that to be me
    I want to die empty
    On a cloud of ecstasy
Knowing that I didn't allow the Earth to get the best of me
Even though heaven and the world are connected separately
I want to die empty, simply knowing that at night
People's dreams would have conversations with me
I want to be used up
    Bruised up with victories
    Fused up spiritually
Abused mentally because it makes me write more fluently
As God's love quilts me, I want the world to milk me
Of all the poetic sentences I'd put together
Because according to the statistics in the death of young black America
I now see that real diamonds aren't forever
I want to measure repentance, treasure existence so much that
    Silence is of the imagination
I can't have any left over sorrow
To come with me if there is no tomorrow
I want to die completely empty
Filled with no more tears, no more fears
Only rest with useful years that I cherished
To the very last breath, to the very last step
    I'd be so light
    That I might...float
Elope with the angels delivering me
    Shivering the seven seas
    When I'd speak oceans and
Repeat notions that would design minds in a new light
I want to be acknowledged inside out
    Like poetic dissection
    Like scientific expression
    A specific protection
Of the few things in this world that are still genuine
I'll relish in something sweeter than love
    I'm talking about passion
    I want to die empty
Sleep softly, happy that pain lost me
    Nature would always remember me
Every time it would change seasons
And I'd go in peace eternally
Knowing that an intelligent black man can live for a reason

you have only one life to live... the same way that those of our people who survived the slave trips to those who survived the horrors of slavery to those who made it through the laws of jim crow and lynchings to us living today... i to want to give all that i can in emotion, passion, conviction in unity to those that can use it, who will come after me ... and they can be filled... i to, must die empty.

because what will i do with it after i am dead?

    thank you... that was FRESH.

This was an excellent piece worthy of intense reflection, divine interjection and poets reconnection. It is a piece that should resonate in our souls, from the new back to the old and make emptiness our goal. For in being empty we could find the solution, make world revolutions with emptiness as our living constitution.

You see, there's more to what you said than what you said and I as a poet must applaud your inner/external expression that embraces and resonates further than you may foresee it as doing. GREAT JOB !!!![/SIZE]

This was written with much strength and fervor, such passion and intensity, with no stone left unturned in your plea. You want to die empty, spent from giving your ALL. I think this write was magnificent, I applaud your message, and the way you expressed it.

    Blak fist salute

The piece right here is powerful. Classic. The gymnastics with words, the flip of nouns and verbs, simply fantastic.

    Certified dope!!!

    life ain't easy

and the ignorance makes it that much more difficult

you are doing the right thing not falling victim to the streets

and that's all you can do on this rock in suspend animation somewhere in deep

    space

man i think the same thing about landing on earth

and i've learned to appreciate what i DO HAVE

try to stay as positive as you can

and most of all just live

    try to do right

    but it's not easy

there is no easy solution to this game

until it stops being a game

    peace
