Black Poetry : I Wait For His Returning

Gross darkness covers the earth as
All creation suffers from the
Burden and torment of man's sin.
The trees groan from their heaviness
And the rocks cry out as the earth
Opens up to release her grief.

Her mourning is almost over,
For Her Creator shall return and
Renew her, giving her a depth of
Beauty no eye has seen.
With her...

I watch for His returning.

There is a day of reckoning and
Woe unto them that live as
Though God is blind.
There is spiritual darkness covering
The earth and I know by the
Season, the end is near.

The words of the trangressors
Shall be overthrown because
The truth is forsaken
And lies are packaged
As established facts.

Yet mercy and truth continues
To go before the face of God.
The foundation of God on earth
Is in His holy mountains;
For He loves the gates of Zion
More than any other place on earth.

Among the gods there is none
Like GOD, neither are there
Any works like unto His.
All nations small and great
Shall bow before Him and
Glorify His name;
For He is God alone...all by Himself.

I pray and I wait
For the morning glory.
In the fullness of time,
The Son shall rise
Before the face of the world.
The Son, now rejected by most,
Shall reign in glory and honor.

Yes...I watch for His returning.

Say it, My dear Sista

"For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee." Isa. 60: 1-3

Your words reminded me of this text....a flow so perfectly put to music in Handel's Messiah....

and this one....

"and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it"...Isa. 40:4-6

it is and shall be as you say...
