    I commonly comment on Common
Except in my case I used to love H.I.M
I used to bop my head to the rugged beat of his heart
I used to enjoy listening to him talk, watch him do his thing

But s**t, he changed faster than the time on a clock
In the space between one breath and the next
He softened up, got phony, and changed his demeanor
He became more aobut the love of the change than the love of the game

He changed to the point where I could hardly recognize him
His features rearranged until I couldnt recollect how he looked
His voice switched and changed octaves
He spun out of control like the record beaneath a DJ's fingertips

I met homie when I was two years old
And what I loved the most is he had so much soul
But i guess trying to maintain longevity took its toll
So I fell out of love with H.I.M but i still ove the hip-hop of old
