the near north
The days have been plenty
The years…long

I thank YOU.

For the heartache and pain
I went through
During the divorce that I caused
{Yes…it was my fault}

I thank YOU.

For afflictions and hard times
Headaches…of all kind
The tears and the pain
Again and again…and again
And for the happiness of love
As I rest in YOUR COMPASSIONATE ARMS

I thank YOU.

For the agony of living
Every opportunity for giving
And for waking me
Each day
Allowing me to say what I say
In whatever way I choose to say

I thank YOU.

Without you
I would not have been.
.
.
.
Would never have gotten married
Would never have had three beautiful boys
That I raised into wonderful men
{with YOUR help}
Would never have known sickness
…that I might better appreciate good health
Would never have lived these forty-five years
Of turmoil…joy…sad times…laughter…
Tears…pain…and time and again of love and happiness
Constantly refreshed in the knowledge that
YOU love me

I thank YOU.
