Snoozing off to lala land and Ouch!!!
I had a knee-reaction that made me realized that my body was displaced in a setting contralateral to that cozy establishment we call home
Oh yeah home sweet home
I noticed branches of trees surrounding me
And
Crickets and mosquitoes singing melodies In my ears
Lions and tigers were watching from a distance because they were perplexed with my distinct look
Wait a minute something just interrupted my thoughts
Seem like the orishas of the forest were having a conversation because I can’t even hear myself cry
So I lay back in my cradle made of ebony
All eyes on me
Eyes of different shapes and sizes were all pondering about my arrival
I lifted my head again and there goes mama from distance
So I cried out mamaaaaaaa
No response I think she is tricking me again
I cried out louder but noticed I couldn’t hear myself
The orishas conversation became louder and louder
Still all eyes on me
2 months, 5 days on the run on this planet
I began to take little steps without any question
I forceful step out of my cradle
See I wanted mama to notice my absence
Maybe mama is getting puffed up again
Tryna teach me a lesson who is the boss
Alright okay I get the joke
So I walked closer to the sound of her voice
I heard a scream and loud noise
I peeked from the bushes and bump it was whole different scenery playing in front of my eyes
I noticed papa’s body was the next link in the food pyramid
Vultures feeding off his eye sockets and open gun shots wounds
I saw them dragging mama and Mr. and Mrs. Osei-tutu with chains and shackle to the nearest shore
I screamed for help but no answer
2 months, 5 days on the run
Still lactating and now mama is gone
Alive they never wanted me to be
But as time went on the orishas and every life form in that forest played a role in my development and survival
I saw them
Yeah all eye on me because I was the chosen one to stay and finish the story
To keep the legacy alive
I saw them
I can still see them
Haunted with memories that can’t be erased
I saw them
All eyes still on me
Alive they never wanted me to be
But I saw them
