When did we lose our prolific Black Entertainment industry? I look at this list and it brings back some fond memories that made me pause and think. It seems like we're going backwards from a time when we were more about being Black back then than we are now and we have more Black wealth today than we did then. Music, comedy, movies, magazines, newspapers and, of course, our churches...we had a clear and distinctive community back in the day, yet we beg for that way of life now. You would think we would be stronger as a community today with our present day knowledge and access to greater resources. How did we lose ourselves?
