She asked me to tell her something
about love
that I had told no other
before…so I thought…

I’d read her a line of my poetry

I read of how my desires were born
from surreptitious thoughts of lovely
passion-filled dreams that I just can’t
help but to act out with her…then…

I read her
another
line or two
of my poetry

Reciting verbally with the gift I
was blessed with, I spoke on every
single kiss I’ve kissed in my lifetime
that couldn’t quantify with the very first
one I placed gently upon her lips…after which

I read her
a few more lines
of my poetry

I eloquently articulated
that she was
the muse of my muse
when it comes to
creating these
love jones type of mental vibes
because I always think
of her when I scribe
my love-filled scribes
from deep within me…
where she enjoys
our comfortable lover’s sojourn…

and subsequently…

I revealed
in simply a whisper
that all the lines of my poetry
that I had just read to her
were written on my heart;
and this I’ve told no other...
